St. Augustine's College is a historically black college located in Raleigh, also known as the `City of Oaks`, for its many oak trees, which is the capital of the US state of North Carolina and the seat of Wake County, having a population estimated at a number of more than 405 000 inhabitants, during the 2009 census, fact which makes it one of the fastest growing cities in USA and the 45th largest city in the country.
St. Augustine's College was officially established in 1867, by prominent Episcopal clergy for the education of freed slaves, and its motto, in English, is `The truth will set you free`. The college's enrollment has increased, in the recent years, being currently approximated at a number of 1600 students, to whom it offers educational programs in areas of study that include accounting, education, international studies, sociology and pre-med.
